As many of you are opening packages from E-Week filled with my instructions, I thought I should write a bit about them, particularly for those of you who are new to the way I write instructions. They are not like cross stitch patterns, and I hope I do a credible job of describing why and how they are different.

On Saturday the StitchAlong for Hollyhock House begins with Ann Blalock as leader. She proofed Hollyhock House when it was new, so my guess is she will be a great help to everyone. In synch with the StitchAlong, I will start writing about the history of Hollyhock House also on Saturday.

I really enjoyed the first installment of how HHH came to be. ...And on a different subject, I hope you abandon all attempts to become organized. You are so obviously an uber-artist, and I am in awe of that talent. In trying to be organized, you might just just inadvertently convert come creative brain cells over to organization, thereby becoming less creative. Can you risk it?
At our age, the manufacturing and conversion processes for brain cells just aren't as reliable as they used to be, either. You could possibly lose some brain cells altogether--they could be lost somewhere in the conversion from being creative cells to being organizationally-minded cells.
So consider simply pretending to be more organized. Tell others you're working on it, you're making progress, and it's going very well, thank you for asking! They won't ask for evidence--you won't offer any. It'll be a sham, but, hey, you can't risk the brain cells, can you? :)
